Tax Data Updates — What Changed

The running log of every figure that changes in the IRS Number Hub — dated, sourced, and linked to the pages it touched.

This page is the cumulative change log for the IRS Number Hub, newest entry first. Each entry gives the date of the change it documents, what changed, the IRS document the figure came from, and links to the affected pages. Entries are dated by the change they document; when the date an entry was recorded here differs, that is stated in the entry itself. This page launched on October 27, 2026, with the first entry below as its starting record.

Latest check: October 27, 2026. The IRS news releases published through IR-2026-128 (October 23, 2026) were reviewed against every figure in this hub, and none of them changed a figure carried here. The tax-year 2027 inflation adjustments and the 2027 retirement-plan contribution limits had not been published by the IRS at that date, so no 2027 bracket, deduction, mileage, or limit figures appear on this site yet — projected figures are never published here in place of the IRS release.

2026 rate year
(recorded October 27, 2026)
2026 standard mileage rates are a split year, and the site launched with the split applied. Business driving: 72.5 cents per mile for January 1 – June 30, 2026, and 76 cents per mile for July 1 – December 31, 2026. Medical/moving: 20.5 cents, then 23.5 cents. Charitable: 14 cents all year. This entry is the starting record for this log: the mileage archive, the Mileage Deduction Calculator, and the 2026 mileage guide were all created with both half-year rates in place — no earlier version of this site ever carried a single 2026 mileage rate, and this entry does not describe a change to an earlier version. IRS Notice 2026-10 / IR-2025-128 (first half) and Announcement 2026-11 / IR-2026-29 (second half), checked October 27, 2026 Standard Mileage Rates archive · Mileage Deduction Calculator · How the 2026 Mileage Deduction Works

How this log is kept

When the IRS publishes a figure this hub carries — the annual inflation adjustments each fall, the mileage rates each December, an occasional mid-year revision — the affected pages are updated from the primary IRS release, the prior year's table moves to the archive section of the same page rather than being overwritten, and an entry is added here. Every January, every dated figure on the site is re-checked whether or not a release was spotted, and the refresh gets an entry here too — including a January in which nothing changed.

Reference only — not tax advice. These tables reproduce figures published by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in TallyUp's own words and layout for planning and reference. They are not published by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the IRS. Verify any figure you rely on at irs.gov or with a qualified tax professional before filing or paying.

Frequently asked questions

What is recorded on this page?

Every change to a figure in the IRS Number Hub — a new tax year's brackets or standard deduction, a new or revised mileage rate, a corrected deadline — with the date of the change, what changed, the IRS document it came from, and links to the pages it affected. Entries are newest first and are never edited silently: a correction gets its own entry.

Why is the first entry dated by the 2026 rate year when this page launched on October 27, 2026?

Because entries are dated by the change they document. The first entry documents the 2026 mileage split published by the IRS in Notice 2026-10 and Announcement 2026-11. TallyUp's mileage pages launched with the split already applied, so the entry is the starting record for this log, not a report of an earlier version of the site being changed. No earlier version of this site ever carried a single 2026 mileage rate.

Is TallyUp affiliated with the IRS?

No. TallyUp is an independent calculator site. These pages present IRS-published figures in TallyUp's own tables and words for reference; nothing here is published by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the IRS.
